Ireland has not hosted a Congress since 1932. Society has changed radically in those eighty years but the human need for God has not diminished nor the mysterious hunger within each one of us for the Bread of Life. It will be a great honour for our nation to welcome the Catholics of the world to pray for a week, to study the Church’s teaching on the Eucharist and to celebrate the faith.

Our parish is preparing in a very particular way for the Congress. We are inviting you as parishioners to undertake an hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament every week, on any day and time of your own choosing. The final week will begin with the Feast of Corpus Christi, and initiate the Eucharistic Congress itself.

Meanwhile, the priests of the parish will celebrate one Mass every week until June 2012, offered specifically for the well-being of all those who have signed up and undertake the weeks of Adoration.
