Pastoral Council
WATERSIDE PARISH

A significant new era dawned for the Waterside and Strathfoyle parishes on the

16th of October last with the establishment of our new Parish Pastoral Council.

The impetus for the formation of the new structure came at a well-attended

inaugural meeting of parishioners in the parish hall, augmented and complimented

by the attendance of Frs. Johnny Doherty and Oliver Crilly, both hugely

experienced in parish pastoral activities. In the course of the evening, six

parishioners were elected to the new PPC; Danny Boyle, Shaun Doherty,

John Herron, John Mc Carron, Eamon Boast and Lawrence Moore. Provision

was Made  for the co-option of additional members to reflect a balanced gender and

geographical make-up of the ultimate council and Anne Friel, Priscilla Deane,

Sr. Breda,  Karen Tyrell, Noreen Sweeney and Brian Mc Gowan

subsequently brought the council to its required strength.
